Linton Garner's Birthday Party

This past Thursday (25th) was Linton Garner's Birthday celebration at Rossini's in Kits. It was a blast. Stu Loseby headed the band along with Russ Botten, Chris Siegerson and Don Fraser. Miles Black came down and played as well. Richard Graham and I got to sit in with Russ, Miles and Stu. It was an honour to be playing with people of that calibre, not to mention for member's of Linton's family who came out to be there. Thank you so much Arni for setting all of this up in the rememberance of Linton Garner. Also, announcements were made about the Capilano College Linton Garner Scholarship fund. Arni is preserving Linton's dream of furthering musical education by setting up the Scholarship fund via Capilano College.
We heard Stu Loseby play Chris Siegerson's ballad "Angela" with Miles, Russ and Don. Man, Stu has a tone that melts mountains and if you have not heard this tune, it is just about the most beautiful ballad (in three) that I have ever heard. Wow Chris......... They also performed Stu's tune "A Messenger for Blakey" that was really cool. Lorraine Foster, Sibel Thrasher, Billy Dixon and many others sat in to pay tribute as well. All in all it was a blast and I am still nursing my pasta hangover. (I had the Linguine Vongole in white sauce and it was amazing).
Happy Birthday Linton and thanks to Arni for the opportunity. This Sunday at St.Andrew's Wesley Church there will be a celebration for Linton as well. Sunday, March 28. Go to:

for more details.
