Jim Blackley.

One of the greatest drum teachers in the world is Jim Blackley, Jim and his wife Nan live in Barrie, Ontario. Jim's son Keith, a prominent modern drummer is gravely ill with a terminal illness. Jim lived, taught and performed here in Vancouver from 1957-67 and taught many of our leading drummers including Blaine Wikjord, Al Weirtz and Terry Clarke. Jim's store and school called "The Drum Village" on West Broadway was always a hotbed of musical and creative activity.

For those of us that know Jim, he can be contacted by phone at 1-705-730-6409. In this dark time for Jim and Nan, I'm sure they would like to hear from any old friends and acquaintances from their Vancouver days. Jim's website is www.jimblackley.com.

New Phone Number for Jim Blackley.

The phone number in the previous post for Jim Blackley is out of date and invalid. His new number is 1-705-730-1425. He would love to hear from friends near and far. Jim is still very active, teaching, playing and accepting students from all over the world.
