Ord has been a featured soloist and section player in the Vancouver music community for many years. A multi-talented musician, Ord has played and recorded with groups as diverse as Uzume Taiko, Sumaláo, The Hard Rubber Orchestra, Garbo's Hat, Brass Roots, The New Orchestra Workshop and has had the pleasure to work with noted improvisors Lori Freedman, Barry Guy '94+'99, René Lussier & Pierre Tanguay, George Lewis, '95+'99 Paul Smoker & Phil Haynes, '96, Paul Plimley, Wayne Horvitz and Butch Morris. A recent improvising trio setting with George McFetridge and Paul Blaney known as This Trio resulted in a self produced C.D. "Landscapes". In the past few years Ord has received four Canada Council grants ranging from study to travel and a recording grant resulting in the release in 2000 of the C.D. highlights of a low life by the group Lonesome Monsters with poet Bud Osborn and Bassist Paul Blaney. Ord has recently re-formed the Graham Ord Trio featuring Paul Blaney on Bass, Bernie Arai on drums, electronic percussion and Japanese flutes and Graham Ord on saxes, flutes and electronic FX.
