London, UK
Current home: Vancouver BC
First performances in 70s Vancouver at the Classical
Joint, and subsequent sporadic appearances in Toronto,
San Diego, Brixton, New Haven, Amsterdam and Köln.
Largely self-taught jazz singer and arranger who benefited
from the guidance of Jerry Inman & Pat Coleman in
Canada, and Michael Garrick & Norma Winstone in
the UK. Founder and manager of Loose Tubes, influential
British jazz orchestra of mid to late 80s. Involved
in the business end of recording and international touring
and the career development of key UK players like Django
Bates, Iain Ballamy, Tim Whitehead, John Parricelli
and Mark Lockheart etc. Dropped out of sight in the
'90s to incubate personal projects, and resurfaced on
the west coast at the close of the millenium. Back in
BC, he has written the musical A Classical Joint
with local composer and sax hero Dick Smith, and started
Roadhouse Records with guitar legend Pat Coleman. Coleman
and Lazzerini have a musical partnership dedicated to
writing and performing jazz songs for the new century.
Lazz is also working on a botanical detective story.
An authentic original.
