I waited a lifetime to see the great Charles Brown in person. Linton was also in attendance that night. I asked if he knew Brown and was surprised he didn't. Till then I thought Linton knew everybody. I dragged him backstage and introduced them, took a couple of shots, and left. That was a thrill!

Brown had already suffered a stroke by the time of his appearance here and was to pass on not long after.
