Christine Duncan, like many great jazz & blues singers began learning her craft in church. A minister's daughter, she performed with her musical family "The Duncans" in gospel shows on stages across North America from the age of five. Since then she has given over 3000 performances.

Inevitably her roots led her from gospel and inspirational music to soul, pop, blues and particularly jazz where she found a musical home. In 1992 Christine met Canadian jazz legend, pianist Bob Murphy and embarked upon an adventure which would garner immediate critical attention from fans, peers and industry critics alike for the new duo's ultra hot, juke joint flavored live performances. The two released their first CD recording I Have A Dream, which received four star reviews.

A musical chameleon with a near five octave range, Duncan also performs nearly every conceivable musical style including jazz, R&B, blues, gospel, top 40 pop, folk, new music, opera and even children's music. She has also recorded and collaborated with such greats as Hugh Fraser, Miles Black and Paul Plimley and performed with such names as Kenny Wheeler, Dave Young, P.J. Perry, Ray Charles, Linton Garner, Paul Horn, Oliver Gannon and many others. Through the late 90's, in collaboration with songwriter/ producer Sam Masich, Christine released Different Standards, The Vogue Show, and Why It Happens.

Along with Christine's rapidly growing audience has come recognition in the form of a nomination for the Alcan and Pacific Music Industry Assn. 1997 West Coast Female Vocalist of the Year (won by Sarah McLaughlan). Most recently she was the subject of a CTV/BC Film funded documentary-portrait entitled Coming Home: Christine Duncan at Christ Church Cathedral.
