My band performed at the festival last week as part of the TD Prix de Jazz & the Galaxie Rising Star competition. My composition "Dance for Leila" was awarded the Galaxie prize. You can check out the tune at www.myspace.com/darrensigesmund or www.darrensigesmund.ca. You can also buy the song or my Strands II CD at CD Baby or iTunes. The tune will be featured on CBC Galaxie Radio www.galaxie.ca. A huge thanks to my band (Eliana Cuevas, Luis Deniz, Reg Schwager, Jim Vivian, and Ethan Ardelli) for a great gig in Montreal. Also, I'd like to thank once again the Canada Council, the Ontario Arts Council & the Toronto Arts Council for recording & composition support.
