On the first Sundays of November, December and January, multiple JUNO Award winning composer, pianist, trombonist, and creator of legendary Vancouver-based bands VEJI and the Hugh Fraser Quintet, presents three different bands performing new compositions and arrangements at The Cellar.From the press release: Canadian Jazz Legend Hugh Fraser is presenting the "FULL CIRCLE" three concert project series at the Cellar to present three distinct landmark musical focuses that have changed Hugh's life and inspired countless others.First concert in the series takes place Sunday November 2. The Source, featuring: Cory Weeds on alto sax, Jon Bentley, tenor sax, Chris Davis, John Korsrud, Lorae Farrell on trumpets, Rod Murray on trombone, Steve Denroche on French horn, Brad Muirhead on bass trombone and tuba, Sean Cronin on bass, Morgan Childs on drums, William Taylor on vocals and Albert St. Albert on percussion. Followup concerts: Sunday December 2, 2007 Original VEJI Most of the original VEJI family members from the early 1980's will reunite for the first time in over 25 years to re explore the original voice these young artists were finding through early compositions of Hugh Fraser and the visual fun of Su Ra style costume and dance. Sunday January 6, 2008 New Musical Family This will conclude the series with an combination of the long time musical family of Hugh's, and will introduce several new young lions from the broad world of contemporary music to create an entirely fresh approach to all new compositions by Hugh Fraser.
