Cellar Artist in Residence

 The Cellar Restaurant / Jazz Club has been trying to establish a monthly ARTIST IN RESIDENCY series for about the last 6 or 7 months. Admittedly it has been somewhat inconsistent in a few areas but we are doing our best to keep this concept alive because we think its unique and vital. There are only so many days in the week and so many musicians and bands wanting to play and develop a sound with the same group or explore other possibilities with different musicians. The AIR program at The Cellar was setup to help encourage that. Our AIR in September was MELODY DIACHUN EQ which served as pre production for her upcoming record. October saw the great Brazilian trio PE DE CANA take the stage every Wednesday. It was a great example to hear the band develop from week to week. The months (NOVEMBER) AIR is pianist BRUNO HUBERT and his trio of bassist ANDRE LACHANCE and drummer BRAD TURNER. The band will be recording all three nights for what will become Hubert's second release on Cellar Live. If you haven't heard Bruno before you're in for a real treat. He is amazing. If you have heard him before you know that he is one of the most unique Canadian voices on the piano. He is always unpredictable and fun.The club has made every effort to make it an affordable night to come down, relax and hang out and enjoy some music. The cover is only $7 and the minimum charge is only $10. Further to that we have lowered our appetizer prices to $7 and Russell Beer pints are only $3.75.
