2007 SOCAN/IAJE Phil Nimmons Jazz Composer Award Recipients Announced
IAJE is pleased to enter into the third year of a unique partnership with the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN). This partnership’s objective is to honour the compositional talents of both established and emerging Canadian composers. The awards are named in honor of Canada’s noted jazz artist and composer, Phil Nimmons, and are officially titled the SOCAN/IAJE Phil Nimmons Jazz Composer Awards. The 2007 award winners will compose a new work for jazz ensemble to be premiered at the IAJE Annual Conference, to be held in Toronto January 9-12, 2008.

Emerging Composer Recipient: Andrew Jones
