More jazz on CBC radio

The CBC has announced their decision to "expand CBC Radio Two as a flag-waving Canadian music service and broaden the musical genres featured on air." This includes more jazz of all kinds with regular jazz programming from 6 - 8 PM daily, plus special shows on experimental, fusion, and other styles. "Boosting the service's Canadian content by about 20 per cent is also a priority."Read more: http://www.cbc.ca |

post a commentHi Brian,
That's the best news I've heard all day! As an artist with an new CD, I'm craning my ears to see if I'm getting any play on CBC. I have heard play of my CD 3 times on different CBC programs and it's a thrill. Helps you feel someone's listening.
I worked for several years as a publicist in the arts community several years ago. But much of the route of self-promotion in this
e-age confound and intimidate me. What directories to join, who to try to link with, the value of college and campus mailings. And the big on- do I really have to spend this much time at my computer?
Many of us were disappointed in the recent CRTC decision not to demand more cancon of Canadian broadcasters. If CBC really comes through with more on it's own, plus puts more focus on jazz, that can only be good. It also strengthens CBC's mandate.
